'The new Jimpster album is in heavy rotation, with 'Secret Sun' and 'Distant Light' being favorites at the moment on KCRW. I love this guy's lush electronic-dub-house sound.' - Jason Bentley KCRW
'Amour provides a snapshot of where Freerange has ended up after a solid decade of musical milestones, with the man that started it all taking charge into decade number two.' - BPM Magazine
'future soul kingpin and bittersweet house don' - Ben Watt (Buzzin Fly, EBTG)
For Jimpster's debut LP on Freerange, he's chosen to push in a more home listening, song based direction which highlights his versatility as a producer and shows his ability to move stealth-like between styles and tempos with a consistency rarely found.
From downtempo, instrumental hiphop grooves through to abstract minimal techno through to deep, clicky house and way beyond, this LP will reawaken even the most jaded of listeners out there. This could be because of Jamie's early decision to bring in featured vocalists to bring a different spin to his usual, instrumental styles. Each vocalist on this album has a unique approach and background which helps to bring a different identity to each of the tracks and keep things sounding fresh and musical throughout.
