The Sun God / Daryl Cura - The 3rd Wave : Eargasmic Recordings EGC4013

The Sun God / Daryl Cura - The 3rd Wave : EGC4013

In 2004, long time friends Jamal Moss aka The Sun God and Daryl Cura put together a highly coveted split EP called ‘The CS Strategy’ that landed in the record boxes of artists like Francois K, DJ Harvey, and a rising Omar S. Years later and still continuing to push the music forward with both of their respective work and record labels, they bring forth ‘The 3rd Wave’ on Eargasmic Recordings.

Here’s more of that raw Chicago madness spread across 4 tracks that fill this EP with dirty dark room beats, thought provoking synthesizer work, and signature sounds from these 2 Chicago artists.

1. Easing Into Tomorrow
2. The 3rd Wave - The Emerging Edit
3. Did We Come Here 2 Laugh Or Cry
4. Waiting Room

Liaisons Dangereuses LIVE CD!

Liaisons Dangereuses Live CD

Listen & get yours!

If you don’t already know, Liaisons Dangereuses is an 80s electronic band that’s been a huge influence on today’s dance music - especially in the house & techno realm. There’s only 1 documented live show that we’re aware of and was actually released on a VHS tape on an imprint called Ikon. The concert was filmed at the legendary UK club The Hacienda…after many many years, we see a CD release of that show! Supposedly an extremely limited number were made with stamped CD & stamped cardboard case.

There’s also quite a few unreleased tracks on the recording with the classic ‘Los Ninos Del Parque’ & ‘Peut Etre Pas’ - favorites of cats like Carl Craig, Derrick May, Farley Jackmaster Funk, Ron Hardy, etc.

Guru from Gang Starr...in our thoughts

from hiphopwired.com

guru

According to many different sources, Hip-Hop Wired has acquired information that rapper Guru has fallen into a coma after suffering cardiac arrest.

Details right now remain very slim, but sources have stated that the news was broken by Guru’s sister.

Guru, who is a former member of the rap duo Gang Starr, is considered to be one of the pioneers of Hip-Hop/jazz crossovers. As more details are released, Hip-Hop Wired will continue to bring you all the information regarding the situation.

Our prayers go to Keith “Guru” Elam and his family.

*UPDATE*
DJ Premier, the other half of Gang Starr called up Satelite XM radio station “Hip Hop Nation” and confirmed Guru’s heart attack.

“Guru IS in a coma and will go under surgery tomorrow afternoon.”
